When is the celebration?

How can I volunteer?

Will there be a parade?
Yes, there will be a large parade down 8th street on Saturday, July 28. The parade will begin at 10 a.m., in front of the Altoona Public Library. It will head eastbound on 8th street, ending at Sam Wise Sports Complex. Please note, 8th street will be closed from 17th Avenue SW to 8th Avenue SE.
When can I see the Declaration of Independence?
The William Stone copy of the Declaration of Independence will be on display at the Altoona Area Historical Museum throughout the entire celebration. Below are the dates and times that it will be open.
- Wednesday, July 25 — 5-8 p.m. (HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEMBERS EVENT)
- Thursday, July 26 — 5-8 p.m.
- Friday, July 27 — 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Saturday, July 28 — 12-8 p.m.
- Sunday, July 29 — 12-5 p.m.
Will there be fireworks?
Yes, there will be fireworks at Sam Wise Sports Complex at about 9:30 p.m.on Saturday, July 28.
How do I reserve a spot for Art in the Park?

I am a direct sales representative, can I have a booth in Art in the Park?
Direct Sales representatives ( Pampered Chef, Avon, etc.) can purchase a “service vendor” spot in our vendor fair, near Art in the Park, click here to learn more.
How do I register for the 5k?
The Altoona 150 5K, sponsored by the Altoona Campus, will be hosted at the Outlets of Des Moines, Saturday, July 28 at 8 a.m. Registration is $30 per person or a team of five can register for $27 each ($135 per team).
